Here's a little preview:
I'm going to split this post up into two parts - the full collection, then some individual gets. I picked up a whole bunch of stuff in Japan and I don't plan to list it all out, but I will for my top collections.
Let's start with this side of the room, housing my favorite Pokemon!
As you can see, Dialga eats up most of this space. @_@
My current Dialga setup! I do have some items that spilled over onto the side shelf, so I'll need to figure out how to squeeze those in yet. Let's start with those first to get the messy stuff out of the way.
A couple of unusual 'figures', the blow-up toy and the Mega Blok kit, take up most of this shelf since I wasn't sure where else to fit them in. The back is all TCG stuff, a theme I'd like to keep going, but I need to swap around the other stuff on that shelf. The washcloth should go on a wall somewhere...
These are mostly flats that are either too heavy or too fragile (that is, I don't want them to get damaged) to hang up. I'll find a better place for them at some point, though!
Ahem moving on...
This shelf I'm pretty pleased with! I could maybe get another shelf to put in here and adjust the others, but I think I've been able to use most of the side and back space reasonably well. Starting at the bottom...
On the lowest level are some pillows, large figures, VS Cards, and some misc items. The Pokemon Center bag (now replaced by a Black/White one at the store) lines the floor like a mat, but it doesn't get stepped on as much as you might think.
What you can see at the top of the previous photo is my laminated charms collection. (A good half of these are from moguryuu <3) I also have a few others of different materials that are scattered about the collection.
I love charms, can badges, that sort of thing! One of my current high wants for this shelf are more of the candy tins like the one on the far left here - I believe they were made for every Pokemon Center (except maybe Sapporo since it wasn't around then), but I only have the Yokohama one. Toys N Joys had Tokyo's at one point and I believe I've seen Nagoya's Palkia, but alas, no luck.
Speaking of high wants, this Donburi bowl was on my wants list for a long time! I don't usually collect items that feature Dialga and Palkia together (as this one does along the rim), but if you look into it or at the bottom, only Dialga is featured. That's good enough for me!
You can also see a little wrapped Meiji candy here. I'd really like to get as many of Dialga's food items (like this one) as I can, but as we get further into BW it's probably pretty hopeless...I've found only two on the comm so far, but thankfully I was able to get quite a few unique things by visiting Japan while DP was still in full swing.
This shelf features quite a mishmash of Dialga. Some of my favorite items here are the dessert bowl (a 2008 7-11 lottery item), the battrio (which I'll show later), and this...
This Dialga is made of solid sterling silver, and only 25 of them were ever released! In 2007, there was a promotion where you could collect gachapon inserts from Chou Get and send them in to Bandai. (I'm not sure, but I think you may also have been supposed to complete a survey, answering questions like "Who did you want most in this set?" and "what Pokemon would you like to see as Chou Get in the future?") A lucky 5 people each month of the 5 months of the promotion would win this beautiful figure, and another five, the matching Palkia. Surprisingly, Bandai still has a shiny page up for this promotion - you can see it here.
When I first started browsing YJ for Dialga (about 4 years ago now), there were a few of these up, and all of them were fairly expensive. For a while, I thought, "Eh, I'm not that serious about Dialga yet", so I let them pass, but after a while I changed my mind and bought one. I haven't seen a single one appear in the years since, so I feel very fortunate to have this guy.
Now my quest related to this Dialga is to find the clear figure that was the 'second chance prize' for this same promotion. I'm guessing it's a Chou Get, but the insert and website don't specify. His regular clears didn't come out until much later, so I'm assuming there is some other one of his more default pose that I haven't seen yet...
Also on this shelf is my mini binder from HGSS Triumphant, which houses all of my Dialga Amada stickers. So far I have 35 different ones, but I'm sure I'm missing more! Here is my current collection photo of all of them.
I seem to have forgotten to take a photo of my Diamond collection shelf, but you can see it here...
And here's a closeup of a few items. They all have Dialga on them so I collect them anyway, but one of my sub-collections is to get as many Pokemon Diamond themed items as I can. Most of these are promotional items from the time of the game's release, but there are some other things like the gachapon eraser there (one of the miniature game cases). My current top want of these is the case that Pokemon Diamond was inside when you picked up the pre-order of it from the Pokemon Center (along with the pre-order figure I have). I wonder if maybe it isn't very sturdy? Otherwise, I'd think more people would have saved it.
Here's another rather disorganized shelf! This one holds most of my cups, many of which have Palkia or other Pokemon on the other sides. (I'm opportunistic enough to take an item that's Dialga/Palkia if I can show only the Dialga side of it!) I've also got some unusual stuff like a bowling pin, pen caps, and of course empty Dialga cereal packets from 2008 and 2009.
And then, the reason I can't squeeze the blow-up toy in with the plush!
Somehow I managed to fit all of Dialga's plush (except the one I know I don't have yet *shakes fist*) onto these two shelves, along with the two customs I have. Each Pokedoll here is a different release - American, Japanese, American kiosk, etc. There's also a big German pillow in the back up there.
To the left, we have a wall area that needs some filling in, but...
To the right we have a better decorated wall! (I actually put another handkerchief up in that upper left corner by my giant plush Justice, but was too lazy to retake all the relevant photos.) Below those cloth items we have a few custom works: a watercolor painting by Xous (who I think is not on this community anymore but is still around on DA), and a bead sprite by the lovely miss_fuu_chan. Below that are three Dialga Pokemon Pan wrappers (I think I got them all??), and the start of this shelf:
This is my primary Dialga figure shelf. I know there are a few blank spaces, but I feel like I'm still missing some...
Another of my sub-collections (or goals) within my Dialga collection is to get all of his figures. There are only a few of them that I know I don't have yet, one of which is the American Jakks remote control racer figure. I have seen several Palkia and Darkrai turn up, but when I tried to buy the only Dialga I saw, the seller found they only had Palkia left >_>
Tomy MCs! My newest addition to the figure collection is the 2010 metallic Tomy MC. I already had the one from the 10th Anniversary boxed set (with Palkia, Entei, Absol, and others), but had disregarded this release since I thought they were the same. Thanks to a tip about their differences from sui_kune though, I was able to pick him up in time! One of them is considerably more glossy than the other - I think it is the newcomer that is not nearly as obviously metallic?
These aren't figures, but they're a prized part of my collection since I'm obsessed with Retsuden Stamps. Dialga received one stamp each in every set from DP1 to DP8, and I'm happy to say I have them all! (There are also sets in DP9 and DP10, but as those were a mix of general DP Pokemon, HGSS, and the Zoroark movie, they don't feature Dialga and Palkia in every set.) I also have two stamps from other sets (one I know was sold with some stationery), and there could be more of those that I don't know about...but I'm set for now!
...well, mostly. If you look carefully, you can see some damage on the third stamp (DP3), as that one snapped in half in the mail on its way to me. I'd like to replace it, but for now, a broken rare stamp is better than none at all!
And here's my last Dialga shelf. Most of my DS cases live here, as do my tiny gachapon stickers, hats, and some other various items.
That big binder on the left (from Great Encounters) contains my flats that are roughly TCG sized, and not too small to fit in a TCG binder comfortably. My pan stickers, Kids card stickers, and various other flats are in here. This photo shows the Pokemon Noodle stickers, of which I've only been able to obtain a few so far. I'm sure Dialga has many more, but these don't seem to show up very often.
The DP1 mini binder on the right contains all my Dialga TCG. I've got one of every Japanese card, and most of the English cards, but I'm not quite as obsessive about those. I was hoping to get my favorite card in every language the TCG is in, but I don't think it was made in any but Japanese and English...does anyone else know? It's the one on the upper left here.
And then on the floor, I have a couple more things that don't fit on the shelves. These are buckets of (unworn) children's clothes, though I bought them primarily for the buckets since I don't really collect clothes I can't wear.
Behind those is a pair of Dialga umbrellas! These were a pain to bring back from Japan since they didn't fit in my suitcase, but they're so hard to find now that I can have no regrets. Here is a photo better showing what they look like.
And that's it for Dialga, in this section anyway! Let's go back to the collections we bypassed before...
I went a bit overboard on Pokabu, but it was hard to resist picking up his stuff! I have a UFO plush on the way, but after that (well, and the MPCs), I plan to stop here. I added quite a few while in Japan, but the 711 lottery plush (the one sitting with his mouth open) is my favorite of those.
Sorry for the poor photos here, it's hard to photograph this area well! Anyway, these are of course my Salamence, Shelgon, and Bagon, who I aim to get all plush and figures of. Bagon and Shelgon have hardly any merch, so I've got a few customs of them to supplement their collections.
The sound effect figure in the back I posted about when I got a few months ago, and I was going to take him out of the box when I moved, but in the end I couldn't take such a rare figure out of the box. ^_^;
I keep thinking that I'm only a few figures away from having all of Salamence's, but I am always discovering more!
Then on the other side of the Dialga are these guys! My Suicunes are split between two shelves since I wanted to fit Karma (my PC giant) with them, but she takes up most of a shelf by herself, so there's some spillover onto the Latias/Latios shelf. I'm expecting some more Suicune soon, so I may have to relocate some of these to another place. Not much new here, other than the arrangement!
What has seen a lot more growth are my BW collections, such as Zekrom! I picked up the MPC and many figures this summer, including the grand lotto figure. I wasn't planning on playing the lotto with a goal of either prize figure this year, but with the way the lotto was split up this year, it was easier to do so (as denkimouse convinced me!) It was great fun getting those winning tickets myself though ^_^
I'm planning to stop here with Zekrom, though I discovered after I got home that my Overdrive zukan has two right wings >_> So I might pick up a replacement one of those. Unless anyone has one with two left wings?
One shelf down is Zekrom's flowy counterpart, Reshiram~ Reshiram was pretty much the same situation as Zekrom, though it took me a few more tries to win his figure. I'm trying to keep these collections as even as possible, and I still can't decide which of the two I like more.
Below that is my "Iris's Pokemon" shelf, which was originally just Kibago/Axew! I'm happy to see Haxorus and Fraxure finally getting figures, though I haven't found the time to put Haxorus' Plamo together yet ^_^;
I consider my Axew collection pretty much as complete as I'd like it to be, though I would nab a 1/1 or talking plush if they made one. And of course I'll get any dragon Retsuden stamps I can, though my priority is for ones I don't have any of yet.
Even though I was already collecting the Axew line and Excadrill, I wasn't planning on collecting Iris, but then I saw something she did in movie 14, and I was sold. denkimouse and viperfox teased me about it, but if you want to collect a trainer, does the reason really matter?
For a trainer, Iris already has kind of a lot of things - a Kid, a pan sticker, a standee (from a Tomy figure set), a movie charm featuring her Pokemon, a seasoning packet (with Dento/Cilan) and some sticker sheets (from BW sticker booklets). I also have a custom charm in there, as well as a sticker cut out of a sheet - I figured that humans usually get so little merch, I'd take anything I could get.
My Excadrills got a bit of a boost in Japan too, and I picked up a few Emonga. I don't plan to collect many Emonga, but I might pick up a Kid or two from here. (I also have the 1/1 plush, which you'll see later!)
And filling out this area of dragons are my Giratinas! They haven't changed much since last time, just got a little rearrangement.
This shelf isn't really visible in the first photo, so maybe it's a bit of a surprise? I'm still keeping up with my 'all of Zoroark's figures' collection, but she hasn't gotten many recently other than the Jakks figure. I'm still missing that Christmas Cake figure though, it seems really hard to find!
My Lucario are a collection I try and keep fairly small, but I got an exciting new addition recently:
I saw this in a collection blog (though I can't remember which for sure) some months ago, and was pretty excited by the concept - Pokemon with appropriate hold items, on charms together! This is Lucario and Riolu together with a Soothe Bell, because Riolu evolves by friendship. Isn't that cute? I was quite pleased to find a mint in package one in an auction, but if you are wondering where the soothe bell comes in..
Mine arrived quite smashed. >_> I tried to reshape both halves with pliers, but couldn't do so well enough to fit the halves back together. Luckily though, it's somewhat generic, and not Pokemon specific in shape or color. If anyone could sell me or point me to a replacement, it would be appreciated! It's about 2 cm in diameter, and as you can see, there's one bar (of a sort of 'dog bone' shape) going across the bottom. I looked around a little for replacements, but all the ones I could find were cross-shaped on the underside, or didn't have that kind of shape at the ends of the line.
And that's it for that side of the door, let's move onto the other!
I can hardly show my collection without showing my namesake Pokemon, can I? If this seems like an out of the way place to put my Jolteon, it's because I wanted to have a good place to display my prized cel!
I found the cel on eBay sometime when Pokemon's popularity had waned in the US, sometime between 2002-2005, and got it for a steal! I have no intention of selling it at all, but I do wonder how much it might sell for on auction nowadays? I don't think I've seen another Eeveelution cel...
I've stacked up most of my figures up in these cases, but Jolteon doesn't have nearly as many as Dialga! I've got most of the ones I know of, but I'm still hunting for a variant of the clear Kid on the right.
Here I've got a few of his plush, including my much prized bell plush! <3
This area is largely customs, but I have a few custom plush that are just too big to fit on this shelf. The newest addition is the shiny Jolteon Tomy repaint won in an auction by caffwin - he's amazing! A really beautiful quality repaint.
And a few more custom plush here, but also my weirdly colored figures (of which I know I'm missing many), a cookie from Eevee Collection, and a few flats.
Filling out the shelf are some of my smaller collections, such as these guys! I'm pretty pleased with how most of these fill out, and I don't plan to add more than a few items here or there. (I'd still like to see some more Pokedolls when BW hits National Dex, but...)
A few more of my dragon or more casual collections. I'll show a close up of Druddigon since I just got my first official items for him...
Joining my sculpture by berugii, I now have the Tomy MC and the MC+! I also have a TCG, but I'm keeping my dragon TCG in a binder together for now. I'd love for him to get a Tomy or PokeCen plush <3
And here's a collection I expect to grow much bigger, Hydreigon line! Almost everything here I got while in Japan last month, though I have a few more customs of Deino now. I have a Zweilous sculpture on the way, so he'll finally get some representation here!
I know Hydreigon has some other collectors that might be interested to see what all I could find, so I'll detail that later in the post. My large custom Hydreigon plush (aka 3dix) I do still have, but he doesn't fit on any of my shelves easily. I figure that I'll add him in when I end up moving these guys to a bigger shelf later.
A fuzzy photo of my Rayquazas! It's a little crowded but I'm pretty set here.
One of the few non-dragon BW Pokemon I'm picking up a collection of. Don't hate! I've taken a liking to Vanillite but not to the evolutions, I think I just find his face cuter.
Here's my little tribute to the first Pokemon I really collected, Meowth! The talking figure near the back of the right side is one of the first Pokemon toys I ever bought (with the talking Pikachu at the same time). At this point I'm just picking up more 'catlike' Meowth here and there, especially ones that are rubbing their faces with a paw.
There are more Pokemon toys around the rest of the room! Most of the rest of it is a bit of a mess (since all my sales stuff is piled up there), but here's a shelf with some of my newer or just especially special plush.
There are some new plush here so I'll show this area too! The 1/1 Emonga, Audino, and Pokedolls are all new from last month, as are the posable Tomy Reshiram and Zekrom. They are really nice, but I think they do look really similar to the Pokemon Center plush - my fiancee asked me if I had two of the same Zekrom plush ^_^;
Ok, now on to part two of the update, individual items!
I'll start with Hydreigon since I think that's what will most interest people here!
This guy has probably been all over the comm in the last few months, but he's my first official Hydreigon item so I have to show him anyway! I never expected Hydreigon to get a plush this early, and I'm super happy with him!
Sorry for the bad photos of these, I don't have a proper photo setup here yet...but here is his zukan! Another item I wasn't expecting anytime soon, though I'll anxiously look forward to the set with Deino and Zweilous. Hope he gets a new pose for that one!
Here is the Tomy MC! Odd how it and the zukan are in almost the same pose, eh? He isn't out yet singly, so I had to buy the movie MC set to get him.
I don't think this is really a 'dynamic' pose as far as MC+ go, but it's a neat figure regardless!
This stamp is one of the fruits of our long search to find this part of the set in stores, but he's very worth it! I believe he is #5 of my Unova dragon stamps (not counting all the duplicate legendaries and Axew).
Sorry, this guy is hard to photograph without glare! I overlooked this set at my first PokeCen trip this year, but was lucky enough to notice him the second time.
When I found that Hydreigon had his own glider (well, other than the Pikachu that's on all of them), I had to have it! Thankfully, it didn't take me very many tries to get him.
Like the gliders, these Battle Wheels seem to be pretty unpopular around here, so I was hoping it wouldn't take too many tries to get him out of the blind packages at 711. Luckily enough, he came on the second of only two I bought!
When I found these magnets for sale at last, I bought every pack in the store! (And good thing I did, because I didn't see them anywhere else after that!) I was hoping to get one, but to my surprise there are two different Hydreigon (and Golurk) magnets in the set!
I bought a couple packs of Pokemon Noodles just for kicks, and I happened to get Hydreigon as one of my freebies! This is pretty lucky as these are often hard to find later - after all my Dialga hunting, I still only have a few of his....
I don't usually collect items where my Pokemon shares the spotlight with some other Pokemon like this, but for this set I thought I'd better get it in case I change my mind later. (I also have a bunch of dice bags and such with Hydreigon among other Pokemon, but I haven't gotten around to getting photos of those just yet.) These are blind packaged and a super pain to get, so if you want one, I recommend getting it on YJ whenever you see it!
This sticker is from a booklet of movie stickers, and as you can see, features Hydreigon and a bunch of other characters and Pokemon. As I said, I don't usually collect things like this, but I kept this one because a) it's the only thing I've found so far with shiny Hydreigon, and b) it has his trainer on it, who I'd also like to collect a little bit!
And onto customs, this awesome bell plush by flag! This picture doesn't really do him justice, but it was difficult to get a good shot of him!
This guy needs a better photo too, but I'll have to get it when I have a better photo area! It's a tiny sculpture won in an auction from porcupine_paws.
Now, one little addition for a totally different evolution line...
Bagon's Full Color Advance ("Pokedex") figure!
I'd long thought I had all of Bagon's figures: the zukan, kid (and clear kid), and Hasbro scaled figure, so I was shocked when I stumbled on a lot with two of this figure included! I'm very pleased to now have the full evolution line:
I suppose this means all of the Hoenn Pokemon have one of these figures? I think I have one for all of the other AG dragons except Flygon, but he has enough other figures that I'm not too worried about it.
Ok, and now on to the gets for my main collection!
This TCG binder/booklet is from a Korean set that I split up with viperfox. She wanted the cards, I wanted the other Dialga things, it all worked out!
Also included in that set was a unique TCG coin! It's in the upper middle here.
This one was on my wanted list for a long time, but if I'd actually known what it was, I'd have made more effort to get it sooner! It's a heat/cold pack - twist the piece inside and it heats up, or stick it in the freezer to make it a cold pack. If used as a heat pack, you can boil it to reuse it.
Partnered with my obsessive Amada sticker collection are these, the matching 3D cards! The one in the upper left is the new addition.
I finally picked up my first Dialga Ensky magnet, though I only discovered the sets he's in recently. I believe this one is from the 2007 set, I'm still looking for ones from 2009 and probably others too!
This one's the reason for the Reel Keychains in my last sales post - I had to get the Dialga in the set! This one was also on my wanted list for a long time, and I was able to get it (and a few other things above) thanks to a trade with a friend in Japan.
Just after I got the clear battrio on the bottom, Dialga gets his first BW battrio, so I'm working on getting that next!
Other than that and one that's generally listed for $1000+ (no kidding), I think I'm caught up on them.
One of these is a new addition, and the other I've had for a long time, but I just recently removed them from the chain they were attached to. The set is similar to the one from Eevee Collection 2008 with all the round charms on one chain, but I don't think these were ever released singly, so that's why I took them apart. It was messy, but it was the only option I could find to get these separate!
And phew, that's it for this time! Thanks for looking!
