|Alrighty folks, it's that time again! That's right. Grab your reading glasses, get the children rounded up and gather 'round because it's ModPost: Monthly Reminder time!
Regardless if you are new or a tenured member of this lovely community, please utilize the buttons above to not only view our community rules but also view previous ModPosts. It is essential that you familiarize yourself with our community rules and stay up to date by keeping tabs on rule updates and reading ModPosts thoroughly. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact one of us mods and we will be more than happy to assist you. Failure to comply and abide by our community rules may lead to a warning, temporary one month ban or worse depending on the severity of the issue.
Q: What is the purpose of a ModPost: Monthly Reminder?
A: To remind members of current rules and/or enforce new ones based on recent rule breaking activity on the community.
Now, on to business shall we? :)
Off Topic Posts
This community is strictly for Pokemon collecting and merchandise. If the focus of your post is not centralized around Pokemon merchandise or your Pokemon collection then it is off topic. If these posts are seen by a mod we will remove it with or without warning. If you are wanting to post something Pokemon related, but it is not in compliance with the aforementioned please post it over at pokemon or on your personal journal.
Q: What about custom items? Can I share my custom creations?
A: Only if they are part of your collection and are part of a collection update. Otherwise unless you have sales permission and are selling customs on our community, you shouldn't be posting your customs here. You need to take these posts to poke_arts as they are a Pokemon customs and art based community.
Group Auctions/Group Buys/Pre-Orders Limits
Going forward all of the above now fall under the same rule; you may only have two simultaneously going at once. Unfortunately we do not feel comfortable with, for example, a member collecting money for 8 different pre-orders that are going on at the same time for items do not come out for months (over 35 days.) You must also have the items delivered to buying/participating members within 35 days of receiving payment.
Q: I purchased an item and have attempted to contact the member running the GA/GB/Pre-Order as I have not received my item(s) but have not received any response. We are closely approaching the 35 day limit. What do I do?
A: Please contact a mod immediately. If you have made a reasonable attempt to reach the member who is running the Group Buy/Group Auction/Pre-Order (i.e. PMing, e-mailing, commenting the original post) and have given them ample time to respond you may file a PayPal dispute for your protection. Generally, this will jolt the member into responding and resolving the issue at hand.
"Who do I owe?" Posts
Posts asking members who you owe payments to are not allowed. It is your responsibility to keep track of your purchases and financial obligations - not of the members of the community at large. Posts like these will be removed and you will receive a warning for failing to comply with our community rules. Keep a record of your purchases/sales and contact members privately via LJ PM, email, or AIM.
Suggestion; Keep track of your purchases by using a Google Spreadsheet. Keep in mind that failing to follow through with your obligations on this community put your reputation on the line and you run the risk of getting negative feedback - this is a quick and easy way to work towards avoid that!
"Whats the status of this GA/GB/Ect" Posts
These will no longer going to be tolerated. They are in the same boat as the previous reminder as they go hand-in-hand. It is your responsibility to keep track of any GAs/GBs/Pre-Orders that you are apart of; just like it is your responsibly to keep track of your purchases because they are EXACTLY that - thus the same rules apply.
Q: How? The community moves so fast and I cannot always be on to see posts so I might have missed it. How am I to be expected to keep track?
A: That is the beauty of tags. Please check the corresponding tag (i.e. group auction and the NEW tag debuting below) and search for posts regarding your GA. If you are still unable to find a answer to your question, contact the GA/GB/Ect runner directly.
You may also find the GA/GB/Pre-Order runner's posts by using the follwing URL: http://pkmncollectors.livejournal.com/?poster=dakajojo simply replace my username with the GA/GB/Pre-Order runner's username to see all posts made by that user! Thanks lilenth for the reminder about this feature! <3
Everyone should tag their posts based on the subject they are posting about. For a list of the community's current tags please click here.
Suggestion; If you see a post that is missing tags or may be tagged incorrectly - you may help by adding tags to the post by clicking on while viewing the entry.
For EVERYONE's convenience I have added a NEW TAG for totals! If you are running a Group Auction/Group Buy or anything that requires totals, please start utilizing this tag. It will allow your participants/buyers to easily find shipping and final total posts. This is one additional step we can take to keeping everything organised!
Un-cut Photos and Videos
All photos and videos NOT under an LJ Cut must be 500px or less in width - NO EXCEPTIONS. Offending posts that are not corrected after being warned will be deleted. If you want to keep the image or video larger than 500 px you must place it under an LJ Cut.
You must have sales permission to sell on this community. You also must have sales permission to advertise any off site sales or auctions (i.e. lots or items on eBay.)
If you already have sales permission please always include the date you received sales permission and by whom.
You are not allow to repost sales unless there has been a significant change in either your available stock or prices. No exceptions.
There is only need for ONE "reminder post" for your auctions/best offers/store runs/group auctions/anything you are running. This rule applies to a post whose sole purpose is a reminder. Simple text reminders added to your posts are not limited so long as the reminder is not the main focus of the post.
Enable E-mail Notifications
If you haven't already, it is highly suggested that you enable e-mail notifications.
Private Messages (PMs) - Members with Privacy Settings
Some members have privacy settings that enable the user to send PMs but do not allow the recipient to respond. Please make sure you have your settings set so that "Registered Users" are able to communicate with you via Private Message.
Instructions on the subject are available here.
I no longer am accepting PMs (this has actually be in effect for the past few weeks.) You may contact me via AIM or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not send your message more than once as it may complicate response times. If you attempt to instant message me and I am unavailable, please try sending an e-mail instead and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
That is all for now everyone. Thank you for your time and please let us know if you have any questions. ♥
