I've been busy these past few weeks, local fair, sculpting, and house hunting. So as time has become mine again, I have finished two new sculptures I wanted to share and get some feedback on.
Along with some really awesome gets! I am still expecting to receive quite a bit soonish, so I may do another post sometime later as a collection update. Another note I'm running out of room in my armoire! I try to keep my "Aiden do not touch or i'm claiming your pikachu ds" merch in my armoire, as my 4 yo is one of those kids with sticky fingers all the time.@_@ No idea how but they seem to always be.
Okay enough chatter from me, click the cut to see new things!
Let's start with the Giant Toy Factory Pikachu Plush. I have such an awesome husband, he won this big ole Pikachu at the local fair going on (last week?). My boy saw him and was like, "dad I want it. I'm not leaving till you get it." Than I saw him and was like "hunni, I want it. I'm not leaving till you wint it." So needless to say, my husband played a few times and won. :)
I recieved these (above photos) awesome plush as a trade with sleepypikachu I love them, and my son has now claimed snorlax. Thanks so much for the trade! XD
I received these as a trade from mizuhokusanagi. My son has also claimed Plusle as his sleeping buddy. I love the binder with my number one girl in there. Suicune. ^^ Along with my next in line Ninetales.
I am now in love with metal figures. I'm hoping to get more soonish (after all the eevee hullabaloo blows over and my wallet regains strength) These were from a couple community members, and I love them! Psyduck is my sons absolute favorite pokemon. ^^
My last recent get. Aria Pokedoll from herar! I did not know how lovely she was going to be, had I known before I would have been sure to get some more merch of hers. ^^
There are a few other recent gets, but I will wait to highlight them with my collection update coming soonish.
Now I'm not the best as I just started at the beginning of this month sculpting. So ANY tips, comments, advice are welcome!
First lets start with the sad story. I decided I wanted to make Wailord, as a Sir. More as a lord after. Anywho, I had just got him to how I really loved him, smooth and ready to prime to paint.
Now my son as helpful as he loves to be, decided that Wailord was finished or just looked like a ball. And basically was playing with him, and tossed him like a football. Thus, he was smashed and broken and all sad like. As seen below.
First, I was angry with all the work I had put in it. Wanting to give up and start over. Than the thought came where I didn't have much clay left. So a fix was best suited. I think he turned out better than he looked before. ^^
Lord Wail and Sherlock Eevee.
They are made of Sculpey original, and painted with acrylic paints.
Roughly about ~4-6inches
I did my best to smooth them out, but hey I'm human and I dont have much patience smoothing something for hours. Thus I used sandpaper. It worked great I think! :D

Lord Wail, other side without monocle.
Top view of Lord Wail. I kind of messed up on the round thingys, but I'm trying to love the work I do and not scratch something because its not perfect. I'm learning! ^^
Sherlock Eevee sideish view.
Other side of Sherlock Eevee. His tail is not exactly smooth as it broke off before painting from my lovely child who wanted to help.
Back of Sherlock Eevee.
Last we have a mini snorlax. I got some colored clay and wanted to try to make a charm as other are so talented at making.
Problems with mini snorlax
1. My fingers can not seem to smooth him. Please help.
2. I sanded him to try to get my fingerprints out, which just ended up removing color from the clay. Thus I had to glaze him.
3. Making tiny parts are hard, or I just have big fingers who like to smash things. ^^
4. The glaze is kind of cracking. Is this normal?
Once again, ANY advice, feedback, tips, techniques are welcome!
Thanks for checking out my post. ^_^
