So I was walking around my local mall today, checking out the comic book shop for Fire Red/Leaf Green booster packs(they didn't have any), when I spotted something strange...and it intrigued me.

So gather around, ladies and gentlemen, and let me tell you the story how about my life got flipped, turned upside down I got ripped off.

Here is the pack in question. I should have known better, seriously. But I was on the phone and was having a serious conversation and holding up the line, so I just kinda hand instructed the sales rep to give me two of these (I know it's rude to talk on the phone when talking to a sales rep, but it was important). I'd never seen them before, but they were cheap and I figured it was some sort of value pack like how Target does it.

Anyway, I'm get home and open the pack, and immediately realize something is very wrong. First of all, the cards felt really thin, gritty, and some of them even had ink stains. I immediately placed one of the cards next to a light source and sure enough, I could see the light going through the card. The easiest way to check if a Pokemon is real or not is to hold it next to a light fixture, and if the light goes through then it's a definite fake. These cards were all fake.

Take a look at these two cards(sorry for the bad quality). One of these two cards is a fake. Can you guess which one?

Answer: The one on the left. I know it's sort of hard to tell by how warped my camera lens is, but the energy icons on the cards are a dead-giveaway, because the elements are oversized. You can read more about it here

OMG A FLYGON EX....a nonholo Flygon Ex? Uhhhh...

This pack came with an amazing amount of rares. I think each box came with around 30 cards or so, but I don't feel like taking pictures of the rest of the cards.

So yeah, I just wasted $6 today. These cards are going in the trash, unless if someone actually wants them for free. I can hold some for whoever wants anything and send them off in the next sales post, if you choose to buy something from me.

Either way, how depressing. I've just had the absolute worst luck with cards lately, and this was just salt on my wound.

However, I went to Toys R Us and bought a Blister pack, and was pretty happy with the REAL cards I pulled.

Definitely keeping Blastoise. :D

So yeah, hopefully someone here learns something from my mistake. Avoid those packs at all costs!
